The U_g value of 1.0 W/m²K (with 90% Argon filling) of Sprimoglass UltraOne NG makes it one of the best double glazing ever made in terms of thermal insulation. We are reaching the limits of the possible with regard to the insulating power of double glazing.

The U value of 1.0 W/m²K (with 90% Argon filling) of Sprimoglass UltraOne NG makes it one of the best double glazing ever made in terms of thermal insulation. We are reaching the limits of the possible with regard to the insulating power of double glazing. This is a 10% improvement on the already remarkable performance of the Optima 1.1!

Triple Glazing: Eclaz3 & Ultra3 (U=0.5 to 0.8)

Sprimoglass' Eclaz³ triple glazing consists of three clear glasses with on sides 2 and 5, a layer with reinforced thermal insulation. Eclaz is produced using a new laser technology which gives it exceptional transparency. Two 15mm spacers, filled with 90% Argon, form the whole and deliver incredible glazing reaching a Ug value of 0.6 W/m²K. An 18mm spacer makes it possible to achieve a Ug value of 0.5 W/m²K.

INCREDIBLE INSULATING GLASS

Thanks to these incredible insulating glazing, architects can now give free rein to their imagination and offer a living structure made up of large glazed spaces. “Low-energy” houses, known as economical houses, also benefit from these new high-performance glazings.

Security = Sprimosafe 

Laminated glass is a protective glass composed of two or more sheets of glass assembled together by means of one or more films of PolyVinylButyral (PVB). In the event of breakage, the pieces of glass remain attached to each other.

SECURITY

Injury Protection

SprimoSafe laminated glass, once broken, greatly limits the risk of cuts because the pieces of glass adhere to the PVB film. On the roof, laminated glass is mandatory for the inside face, in case an object strikes a glass roof. 

Bodyguard

The pieces of glass remaining together after breakage, SprimoSafe laminated glass maintains its role as a screen against the risk of defenestration. However, the implementation must comply with the requirements in force (NBN S23-002, NIT 221, STS54, NBN EN 12600). 

Burglary protection

SprimoSafe laminated glass offers resistance to repeated blows which depends on its composition. Even if the glass is broken, the PVB interlayers continue to prevent intrusion. The number of PVB determines the resistance to burglary. The carpentry in which these glasses are installed must also be adapted. 

Bullet protection

SprimoSafe laminated glass provides firearm impact resistance that is a function of its composition.

ACOUSTIC COMFORT

Due to its composition, laminated glass offers enhanced acoustic attenuation. In cases where sound insulation is paramount, conventional PVB can be replaced by acoustic PVB. 

PROTECTION AGAINST ULTRAVIOLET

A laminated glass with 2 PVB retains more than 99% of UV, which causes discoloration of the objects on display.

FLOOR TILES

For glass stair treads or floor slabs, the thickness of laminated glass to be used will be determined based on the usage. As a general rule, these are very thick glasses. 

INALTABILITY

PVB does not yellow in daylight or artificial light.

AESTHETIC

PVB can be colored: matte, bronze,... and combine design and safety.

COMMON USE

In order to guard against possible defenestration, or to ensure protection of the railing type, a laminate with 2 PVB is necessary (44.2, 55.2, etc.). 

For protection against attempted break-in, the minimum is also 2 PVB.

Increased security (isolated dwelling, exposed valuables, etc.) may justify a composition with 4 or even 6 PVB (44.4, 44.6).

If the risk of burglary is high (jewellery, etc.), other compositions with multiple layers of glass and PVB become essential (for example 444.8).

TESTS AND COMPOSITIONS

Requirements of the different tests

P1A: fall of 3 balls of 4.1 kg from a height of 1.5m > the glass must not be crossed.
P2A: fall of 3 balls of 4.1 kg from a height of 3m > the glass must not be crossed.
P3A: fall of 3 balls of 4.1 kg from a height of 6m > the glass must not be crossed.
P4A: fall of 3 balls of 4.1 kg from a height of 9m > the glass must not be crossed.
P5A: fall of 9 balls of 4.1 kg from a height of 9m > the glass must not be crossed.
P6B: minimum 30 ax and sledgehammer blows > does not allow the passage of man*.
P7B: minimum 51 ax and mace blows > does not allow the passage of man*.
P8B: minimum 71 ax and mace blows > ne

* "man passage" = opening of 40x40cm

Bullet protection

When people need to be protected from gunfire (banks, service stations, army buildings, etc.), the SprimoSafe range

offers a wide variety of glazing adapted according to the use, type of weapons and ammunition against which it is necessary to protect oneself.

These glazings have been tested according to the NBN EN 1063 standard.
